How did this site come to be?
This site has been my digital playground since 2003 (technically 2001 if you count the number of years it was under the guise of rubydune.net - my former band from college).

Basically this site's origins can be traced back to when I was a young lad nerdling studying computers in college. I decided to make a website for my psuedo-hippie-jamband I was playing drums for at the time. On that particular website I had a section in which I would digitally spew random things found on the web into a journal section for the casual reader to enjoy. Over time, the actual flowery jamband (music once described as 'hippies running down a hill in slow motion' - even worse reviews can be found here and here) dissolved into the bowels of history. However, my fondness for posting random bits of crap to the Internet remained - so soon after that (sometime in 2003 to be precise overly general) GeekLikeMe.net was registered as a place devoted to posting said bits. And no, I don't wear patchwork pants.

Where do we go from here?

Here we are today, four years worth of links later and still posting URLs of different shapes and sizes for our my own self-enjoyment. Other sections of this site spawned along the way in an effort to make the site more 'interesting'. While most of them have failed, you can still take a tour of all the aforementioned sections via the giant navigation buttons to your left. There are new sections in the works - and have been for quite some time, but probably won't see the light of day. I like to take the term 'work in progress' to new heights. A new version of this website is currently in development and scheduled to live on June 1st, 2008.

Who are you really?

I, Vin (or Vincent, but never ever ever ever under any circumstances Vince), am this website's biggest critic/fanboy and the one responsible for compulsively getting up at 6:15 am 6:00 am 5:30 am 6:00 am every morning to round up links like cattle. Then it's off to work. Then it's back home to my lovely (and sublimely beautiful) wife and daughter. Then I eat dinner. Then I go to sleep. Then I wake up and do it all over again. Occasionally in the times between eating, working, parenting, and sleeping I may get verbose (even more psuedo-blogging), make an admittedly not-funny web comic, throw some photos online or even make some desktop wallpapers. But if you still really want to know the gory details of my day to day life read my logs - also affectionately known as the daily grind.

Those daily logs are kinda boring, is this really what you do with your life?

No, there's actually a loads more to it (believe it or not). But for some strange reason I really don't like to get overly personal in that section in fear that it would probably just bore you even more. This page is probably as personal as it gets (although that can be disputed).

Anything new in the works for this site?

Yes, stay tuned. Later, sometime down the road. The road is quite long. I am pulled over at a rest stop. Eventually. New version of this website is scheduled for delivery on June 1st, 2008 - assuming I stick to my own self-imposed deadlines.

I have question about you and your stupid awesome site? How can I reach you?

If you want to reach out to GeekLikeMe.net with a random bit of Internet goodness you can suggest a link from the homepage (cleverly titled 'suggest a link'). Otherwise decode said email address below. I probably won't respond to you (or maybe I will). I'll be glad you put forth the effort. You can also be my friend on some of those popular so-called 'social networking' sites if you're so inclined - and of course if you happen to actually know me in the real world (that helps).
