- Glow of Doom
Yet another lame Nintendo Wii joke this time combined with a Lord of the Rings joke. See? It's like the best of both worlds.

- Ten awesome Super Nintendo RPG games you should probably play at least once in your life.
I'm not sure if I should be proud or just plain sad to say that I've only completed five of the ten games on this list. Oh whatever, I'm proud - those were good times. For those of you who would like to relive the Super Nintendo glory days check out the OpenEmu project. It's a fantastic iTunes-like emulator for Mac that is currently under development (thanks Ant).

- The Verge reviews The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and finds some unexpected issues.
Rather than the majestic grandeur presented in the first films, the new entry looks more like a Renaissance Faire recreation shot on your brother's mini-DV camera. It's most jarring in the movie's opening, where we briefly visit Frodo and Bilbo in the moments leading up to Fellowship; we know what these characters in that world should look like, and it simply feels wrong.

- A video review of the next Legend of Zelda game due out on November 20th for the Nintendo Wii.
GameTrailers sums up everything you would need to know about The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword in under ten minutes for your viewing pleasure. I've always had a real soft spot for Zelda games. This title may force me to blow the dust off of the old Nintendo Wii and hook it up via nine-hundred multi-colored component cables once again. Also, as the review demonstrates, the Wii really shows it's age with the graphics and lack of voice acting here. In the end though, it still looks like it will be an utterly fantastic Zelda game.

- Nintendo hard at work to find way to use more than one tablet for their next console.
It seems that Nintendo had originally planned to have only one controller / tablet accessible to the Wii U at launch time (the other controller would have been your standard Wii-mote variety). Someone at Nintendo must have realized that this would probably be a bad idea so they have been hard at work at trying to make two tablets work for the console. The console's processor and RAM constraints may have played a part in pairing a singular tablet. However, Nintendo may have solved this so multi-tablet gaming may be coming to a living room near you.

- Nintendo shareholders would really like to see Mario on the iPhone, sooner than later.
It's an interesting time these days for video game consoles. That is of course, if you happen to be a company called Nintendo. Nintendo's latest handheld has been officially declared as a flop (even by Nintendo itself) and the price has been reduced not long after release. The caliber of games you can find on the iPhone and iPad do rival what you can find on a Nintendo handheld - and at a much cheaper cost ($40 compared to often times $1-2). It should be interesting to see how this all plays out.

- Tickets for Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony Concert on sale today.
For those of you who happen to be a fan of all things Zelda while at the same time being fans of all things orchestral this October will be a good month for you. You'll get to hear some of your favorite Zelda themes performed by a 70-piece orchestra along with a choir at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. For those who can't make it out to Los Angeles, fear not - Nintendo is planning a full concert tour in 2012.

- Nintendo decides to drop price of the 3DS from $249 to $169.
But that's not all! If you were an early adopter and have managed to come out of the ordeal eye-strain free you'll have twenty free games waiting for you for being such a loyal customer. Those free games will be comprised of titles from Nintendo's eShop - ten of which have to be NES and the other ten GBA... but hey, free games!

- Amazon decides to suspend sales of the Nintendo 3DS handheld.
A heads up to anyone thinking of purchasing a shiny new Nintendo 3DS from Amazon.com, you can't right now. You'll have to go to a local retailer (edit: or a non-Amazon marketplace seller) , at least for now, to get your hands on one. The official word from Amazon is that there may be something wrong with the method in which the handheld is shipped or the way in which shipping is described. Huh?

- Start your week off with a smile and journey over to Isengard with your pal Saruman.
Make sure that you are not drinking any sort of mead or eating Elven bread whilst watching this quick video. It may travel as far Rohan before settlling near the white tree of Gondor before being expunged from your nose. Interesting to note that Saruman can add trolls to the list of creatures once bred at Isengard.

- Nintendo states no interest in bringing games to iPhone or Android.
According to AllThingsD Nintendo's stock took a beating after this announcement. From Nintendo's point of view this an obvious move. They make the hardware, they develop games on their hardware. Would you expect to see Apple putting iOS on an Android phone in the near future? If you said yes, proceed to smack yourself in the face. Now do it again.
