Turns out that one in four U.S. employees have no paid vacation time.Turns out that one in four U.S. employees have no paid vacation time.

The United States is the only advanced economy with no guaranteed vacation time for workers, and most Americans aren't even aware that guaranteed time off is common elsewhere in the world. While the guaranteed number of days off for employees in the U.S. is zero, workers in the European Union get at least 20 days per year, not including public holidays.

Ten awesome Super Nintendo RPG games you should probably play at least once in your life.Ten awesome Super Nintendo RPG games you should probably play at least once in your life.

I'm not sure if I should be proud or just plain sad to say that I've only completed five of the ten games on this list. Oh whatever, I'm proud - those were good times. For those of you who would like to relive the Super Nintendo glory days check out the OpenEmu project. It's a fantastic iTunes-like emulator for Mac that is currently under development (thanks Ant).

Twenty-one unfilmable books that managed to make it to the big screen.Twenty-one unfilmable books that managed to make it to the big screen.

Even Rotten Tomatoes agrees that some of the books that made it onto this list should have never been considered for major motion picture filming in the first place. Yep, looking in your direction Cat in the Hat.

Yahoo pulls the curtain back on a brand new version of their mail client.Yahoo pulls the curtain back on a brand new version of their mail client.

Definetly looking forward to giving this a whirl as I'm starting to grow weary of the GMail interface these days. Microsoft Outlook, which I use for work, is moderately simple yet has power features for people (such as myself) who are little overboard in terms of organization. I'd also like to point that GMail's labels versus folders paradigm does absolutely nothing for me. GMail looks like a stream of people shouting at me.

Google Fiber not coming to your neighborhood any time soon.Google Fiber not coming to your neighborhood any time soon.

Turns out that Google would need about $140 billion to roll out their fiber network to the entire continental United States. At present time, they only have about $45 billion in the bank and that doesn't begin to include other associative costs.  Long story short, if you really want to try out Google Fiber you should think about moving to Kansas.

Rumors swirling that Disney's Hollywood Studios will be getting a Radiator Springs makeover.Rumors swirling that Disney's Hollywood Studios will be getting a Radiator Springs makeover.

While this news is by no means official it sounds like a formal announcement may be right around the corner. Full disclosure: I am a gigantic Disney nerd. My kids, by association, are also gigantic Disney nerds. But they also happen to be huge fans of the Cars movies. Ask us to recite any line and you'll hear the whole movie. The recently opened Cars Land in California has been met with postivive reviews from fans and non-fans of the franchise. Being that we reside on the East Coast, a trip to Florida is way more feasible than a trip out to California. Ka-chow!

Five future technologies for passenger air travel presented by National Geographic.Five future technologies for passenger air travel presented by National Geographic.

What does the future hold for passenger air travel? National Geographic takes a look at some future technologies being developed right now. You just might be commuting at twice the speed of sound in a dart-like airplane and then arriving at the airport of the future. Do all airplanes of the future all have free in-flight wi-fi? That would be totally cool.

Apple pulls the curtain back on iTunes 10.5.1 with iTunes Match.Apple pulls the curtain back on iTunes 10.5.1 with iTunes Match.

Unlike competing cloud storage music services from Amazon and Google, iTunes Match saves a lot of bandwidth and time in your initial synchronization, because Apple can identify which songs in your iTunes library are already available in the iTunes Store. If Apple can positively match a song in your library with any of the 20 million tracks for sale in the iTunes Store, it won’t bother uploading that song; only unmatched songs get uploaded to the cloud.

Engadget's thorough review of the brand new Kindle Fire tablet from Amazon.Engadget's thorough review of the brand new Kindle Fire tablet from Amazon.

Engadget covers everything here from the packaging to the performance of Amazon's first real entry into the tablet field. Engadget hails the device as quite an achievement at it's current price point ($200) but they do knock the device some by saying that it can't compete with 'normal' tablets that are currently on the market in some key factors.

Nintendo hard at work to find way to use more than one tablet for their next console.Nintendo hard at work to find way to use more than one tablet for their next console.

It seems that Nintendo had originally planned to have only one controller / tablet accessible to the Wii U at launch time (the other controller would have been your standard Wii-mote variety). Someone at Nintendo must have realized that this would probably be a bad idea so they have been hard at work at trying to make two tablets work for the console. The console's processor and RAM constraints may have played a part in pairing a singular tablet. However, Nintendo may have solved this so multi-tablet gaming may be coming to a living room near you.

MTA releases renderings of the new Apple Store coming to Grand Central Station.MTA releases renderings of the new Apple Store coming to Grand Central Station.

The title of this article is a little misleading as there is really only one rendering to look at over on The Real Deal's website. AppleInsider has some of the other renderings, albiet in a less vibrant (and boring) form. Aside from the new Apple Store, Grand Central will also be home to a brand new Shake Shack.

Before and after renderings of Apple's Fifth Avenue cube redesign. Before and after renderings of Apple's Fifth Avenue cube redesign.

The new Apple cube will sport only fifteen panes of glass as opposed to the previous use of a whopping ninety panes of glass. The cost of upgrading their iconic glass cube on Fifth Avenue? Just a mere $6.6 million bucks, which in reality is actually chump change for Apple. If you're interested in the technology behind how these giant peices of glass are actually made MacRumors points to this article over on ifoAppleStore.com.

A quick tutorial on how to create checklists using Evernote.A quick tutorial on how to create checklists using Evernote.

Until quite recently all of my to-do lists were hand-written in a tattered marble covered notebook. I liked writing things down and enjoying that small feeling of achievement that comes with checking something off. That is, until I got too lazy to write them down. Enter Evernote, a free app for cataloguing whatever it is you want to catalogue. It's searchable, syncs with pretty much any computer or device, and best of all - free. Posting this here because I was not aware that you could search to-do lists via items that have gone unchecked. Awesome feature.
