New report reveals that Google uses roughly 900,000 servers.New report reveals that Google uses roughly 900,000 servers.

The good news is that at least those 900,000 servers are the low-power high-efficiency breed of servers that one would expect a company as big as Google to be using. The source article has some other interesting tidbits regarding software that will automate data across multiple data center as well as Google's server expansion plans. Long story short, the number will probably go over a million in the near future.

Netflix may get a small dose of animated movies via new streaming deal with DreamWorks Animation.Netflix may get a small dose of animated movies via new streaming deal with DreamWorks Animation.

According to Bloomberg News, the deal would kick in after the pay TV agreement with HBO expires, but a source tells THR that HBO has offered to end DWA's output deal two years early because HBO recently signed a pact with Summit Entertainment that gives the pay cabler 10-12 live action films a year versus the two animated films a year that DWA offers. Plus, animated fare is more common now that HBO content partners Warner Bros., Fox and Universal are all producing those films.

Reviews starting to come in for the very last Harry Potter movie.Reviews starting to come in for the very last Harry Potter movie.

It ends well. After eight films in 10 years and a cumulative global box-office take of more than $6.3 billion, the most successful franchise in the history of movies comes to an obligatory -- and quite satisfying -- conclusion in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Fully justifying the decision, once thought purely mercenary, of splitting J.K. Rowling's final book into two parts, this is an exciting and, to put it mildly, massively eventful finale that will grip and greatly please anyone who has been at all a fan of the series up to now.

Want to know just how speedy YouTube is in your area?Want to know just how speedy YouTube is in your area?

An interesting little page that I didn't know existed on YouTube's website. I'm quite surprised to see my ISP performing as well it does compared to the rest of the state of New York (or in some cases the rest of the country).

What Americans don’t know, however, is that many of these enterprises are paying extortion fees to hackers who compromise their systems, threaten operational shutdowns, and demand payment to desist.

Avatar flick still doing pretty well for James Cameron and company.Avatar flick still doing pretty well for James Cameron and company.

The film has raked in a whopping $232 billion thus far. Source website seems to think that Avatar is well on it's way to reaching the likes of Star Wars ($460.9 million) and maybe even Cameron's own Titantic ($1.8 billion). Not sure how you can equate $232 million to $1.8 billion that quickly though.
